About Me
As the Alternative Delivery Lead for the Moving I-4 Forward program, Jason Watts spearheads the development of alternative delivery methods, creation of applicable RFPs/RFQs, and oversees the execution of the innovative new concepts adopted by the Department.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Juris Doctor from Florida State University. He is AICP Certified, a Certified Public Manager, and a member of the Florida Bar.
Currently also serving as FDOT’s GEC Program Director, Jason brings more than 15 years of transportation planning and legal experience to the Moving I-4 Forward team. He previously served as the Director of Environmental Management for the Florida Department of Transportation and has served as FDOT’s Chief Counsel for Contracts. He has been instrumental in all Department alternative delivery methodologies and practices. He has experience in developing Design-Build and Phased Design-Build procurement documents, public-private partnerships, statewide policies, leading teams of multiple agencies and partners, contract and risk management, analyzing environmental data leading to NEPA approvals, and negotiating solutions to complex project development concerns.
