Construction Connections
The Moving I-4 Forward Program will consist of five main projects plus an initial phase called the Accelerated Start project that includes two additional components to jump-start future construction.
By expanding the Accelerated Start sections earlier in the project timeline, this better allows FDOT to prepare for the adjoining I-4 projects and build them simultaneously and provide immediate congestion relief.

Meet the team hard at work to keep Moving I-4 Forward. Each month, we’ll highlight an individual making a difference in our mission to improve the I-4 corridor.
Mission: Matthew has worked with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for over six years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about the transportation industry to the communications team. He looks forward to driving on the completed congestion relief lanes in late 2025.
FDOT Connections: Matthew worked as an in-house consultant for FDOT on the I-4 Ultimate, and he served as a communications manager for FDOT District Five, where he was named rookie of the year for 2024 for his involvement with various projects including the legacy project Wekiva Parkway.
Team Member Trivia: Matthew is passionate about camping with his wife and daughters, caring for his office plants, and collecting video games.
