The Moving I-4 Forward Program is already set to deliver five major projects along I-4 years ahead of schedule. FDOT’s Corridors Program Office (CPO) has also identified an additional project that will improve safety and contribute to the successful delivery of the already-identified projects.
The additional project will be broken into two segments and will expedite the final roadway configuration for the Moving I-4 Forward core projects, facilitating traffic shifts during the construction of the program’s mega projects. By initiating this accelerated start project, the CPO has ensured that the mega projects can be constructed independently, enhancing the program’s flexibility and efficiency.
FDOT’s CPO has announced a new approach to project delivery called Modified Phased Design-Build (MPDB). This innovative method underscores the Department’s commitment to our transportation industry partners via multiple contract selection and improves program quality through qualifications-based selection. FDOT will select up to three teams for MPDB contracts, and all teams will advance projects to 30% design in a planning and innovation phase. FDOT will choose which innovations will be used and set the project scope. All teams will submit a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), and FDOT will issue Work Orders to move forward with final design and construction.

As the Moving I-4 Forward Program progresses into the next stage, FDOT is pleased to announce staffing changes for the CPO. These changes and additions will help propel the program forward as each team member brings a wealth of experience and problem-solving to his/her role.
The CPO marked a significant milestone for the Moving I-4 Forward Program with the opening of an office in Celebration. Located adjacent to I-4, the facility will serve as the hub of the program, bringing together a dedicated team of experts who will drive forward the mission of progress and innovation.
