The on-ramp to I-4 westbound from State Road (S.R.) 429 southbound will be closed nightly from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on the following nights:
- August 6-9
Detour Information:
- For I-4 westbound from S.R. 429 southbound, turn left onto Sinclair Road eastbound, then turn right onto Old Lake Wilson Road southbound. Continue on Old Lake Wilson Road for approximately 2.5 miles and turn right onto C.R. 532 westbound. Continue on C.R. 532 for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn left to access the ramp for I-4 westbound toward Tampa.
- August 9-11
- To continue on I-4 eastbound, take Exit 58 (Poinciana/Kissimmee) and exit to ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532) eastbound. Next, turn left onto northbound Old Lake Wilson Road. Continue on Old Lake Wilson Road for approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto Sinclair Road toward S.R. 429. Turn left and take ramp to S.R. 429 southbound, then take Exit 1 to access the on-ramp to eastbound I-4.
- To continue on S.R. 429 northbound, take Exit 58 (Poinciana/Kissimmee) and exit to ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532) eastbound. Next, turn left onto northbound Old Lake Wilson Road. Continue on Old Lake Wilson Road for approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto Sinclair Road toward S.R. 429. Turn left and take the ramp to S.R. 429 northbound.
Temporary Traffic Signal on U.S. 192 East of I-4
In August 2026, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will activate a temporary traffic signal on U.S. 192 (W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) east of Interstate 4 (I-4).
In this phase, the existing flyover ramp bridges connecting U.S. 192 eastbound to I-4 eastbound will be demolished and reconstructed within the same footprint. This innovation reduces costs, shortens the ramp work schedule (delivering the new ramp approximately one year earlier), and conserves resources by reusing the remainder of the existing flyover ramp roadway sections.
The signal will be activated in flash mode soon before transitioning to traffic operation. The temporary signal is expected to remain in place through early 2027.
- U.S. 192 eastbound drivers:
- Current movements do not change.
- The existing flyover bridge to I-4 eastbound will remain open.
- U.S. 192 westbound drivers:
- Traffic will encounter a yellow flashing light. Drivers should remain alert and proceed with caution.
- U.S. 192 eastbound drivers:
- For U.S. 192 eastbound, continue eastbound on U.S. 192 past the existing exit to the flyover ramp, crossing over I-4, then make a left turn at the signal only when provided a green arrow (do not turn left otherwise).
- Through traffic will have a continuous green light. Do not stop.
- The existing on-ramp to I-4 westbound will remain open.
- U.S. 192 westbound drivers:
- Treat as a standard signal. Be prepared to stop for those turning left to access the on-ramp to I-4 eastbound. The existing on-ramp to I-4 eastbound will remain open.
