Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Moving Florida Forward Program is reshaping the transportation industry, success of this program depends on a strong, skilled, and capable workforce.

FDOT has developed and launched a paid four-week Florida Transportation Academy’s Construction Training Program designed to expand the pool of skilled laborers to help us deliver the transformational infrastructure projects for Florida.

This Program reflects FDOT’s strong commitment to building a sustainable pipeline of trained, job-ready workers who can enter the workforce quickly and make an immediate impact.

Whether you’re new to construction or exploring a career change, this program provides you with the tools and training to jumpstart your career, while contributing to the critical transportation infrastructure that drives Florida’s strong economy and enhances everyone’s quality of life.

Participants can choose either the Heavy Equipment Operator OR Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B) track.

All trainees must pass a drug screening and background check and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Proficiency in English is required.
