Congestion Relief Lanes are Open Eight Months Ahead of Schedule!
Moving I-4 Forward’sAccelerated Start Project prioritized construction of new congestion relief lanes – one general use lane in each direction – as an initial phase of the project along Interstate 4 (I-4) between U.S. 27 and World Drive. These additional lanes provide enhanced regional connectivity by improving travel times along I-4. This work was anticipated for completion at the end of 2025 but was completed eight months AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
Having these additional lanes have increased vehicle capacity to improve traffic flow, allowing drivers to get to their destination safer and faster. Congestion relief also means more reliable trips.
Check out the video below to hear what our team has to say about the newly opened congestion relief lanes.
Construction and Pile Driving
Crews are well underway with driving piles for the Moving I-4 Forward Accelerated Start Project. The program is building the foundation for the future of I-4 and taking a significant step toward its goal to keep traffic moving while improving transportation and safety.
When driving piles, it is important to install deep foundations to support the additional lanes for the new I-4 overpass at ChampionsGate Blvd.
